Engine Technician

Under the supervision of the Director of Operations, the Engine Test Technician will have a diverse role providing support for: modification, fabrication, assembling of engines and assemblies, test preparation, testing, teardown of test engines and assemblies and documentation of results and observations. These duties will play a critical role to support the development, certification and preparations for production of DeltaHawk engines.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Fabrications and assembly of test components and systems to meet engineering requirements
  • Modification of components as required to meet engineering specified test requirements
  • Providing primary input to engine and assembly build documentation
  • Setup engines and assemblies for testing following stablished protocol and test requirements
  • Executing engine test requests with in established protocol and engineering specifications
  • Complete engine tear down and carefully documenting observations and requested data
  • Equipment and basic facility maintenance; support for marketing shows and displays
  • Other duties as assigned.


  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and ability, with experience in aviation environment preferred
  • Ability to accurately and consistently follow procedures and direction
  • Ability to comprehend and communicate technical details effectively in verbal and written form
  • Basic computer literacy including the ability to organize and manage test data files
  • Ability to lift, hold, position weights up to 45 lbs intermittently (two to four times per hour over a work shift)
  • Ability to intermittently (2 to 4 times per hour over a work shift) work in various position necessary to service the engine, test configuration or related assignment
  • Ability to effectively integrate and work as a team member
  • Ability to effectively and efficiently learn additional skillsets as required
  • Basic Mill, Lathe, TIG Welding and fabrication experience preferred


  • High School Diploma or GED
  • High Mechanical aptitude
  • Technical comprehension and communication skills
  • Passionate about learning and developing job related skills
  • Ability to follow safety procedures consistent with general mechanical shop and test cell procedures


  • A&P Mechanic Certificate with a minimum of 1 year of experience

Working Conditions

Work will be conducted in a mechanical shop and engine test cell environment with standard precautions required consistent with an engine assembly and engine test cell environment.
