Quality Assurance Technician (2nd shift)

This position is 2nd shift and the individual will have the choice of working Monday through Thursday, 4:00p.m. to 2:30a.m. or Monday through Friday, 4:00p.m. to 12:30a.m.

The Quality Assurance Technician reports directly to the Senior Quality Analyst, and is responsible for accurate and efficient dimensional inspection, testing and documentation of aircraft engine close tolerance machined components and assemblies.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Perform final dimensional or mechanical inspection of parts, components, subassemblies and assemblies for conformance to drawings, engineering specifications
  • Use a variety of precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, vernier calipers, comparators and gauging equipment, and surface plate layout inspection
  • Assist with devising dimensional gauging set-ups, perform part layout inspection and assist in establishing part inspection procedures
  • Document and reporting of nonconforming material
  • Perform complete first article inspection on components, sub-assemblies and assemblies to AS9102 requirements

Minimum and/or Preferred Qualifications


  • High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution
  • 3 + years inspection experience in an ISO 9001 or AS9100 system
  • Familiar with a Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM)
  • Familiar with and able to read and interpret drawings and engineering specifications
  • Solid verbal and writing communications skills in English
  • Solid interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective intra and inter-departmental relationships at all levels
  • Basic computer skills
  • Able to work with little supervision.
  • Possess basic knowledge of drawings, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), certifications of conformance, chemical and physical analysis reports and test reports
  • Possess knowledge of AQL sampling selection per internal procedures or ANSI/ASQC Z1.4
  • Must be able to lift 40 lbs to work bench height


  • Proficient in operating Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM), preferably with PCDMIS
  • Leadership skills and/or experience
  • Experience in an Aerospace or close tolerance inspection environment

Working Conditions

This is a temperature controlled inspection lab environment with occasional standing required. But will require time spent on the shop floor or test facility during testing.
